I'm an online buyer in Nigeria and have purchased a lot of things from several online stores across the world. I've purchased stuff from local online stores in Nigeria as well as international stores like Aliexpress, Amazon and eBay.

Do you want to buy things from eBay? Well, I guess many Nigerians do. In fact, in the not so distant past, many eBay sellers didn't mind sending goods to Nigerians but due the the fact that many of them were defrauded, eBay stopped shipping items to Nigeria and so eBay sellers now mostly do business with US based buyers.

It's quite possible to buy things from eBay even if you were living in Nigeria but the thing is that you may need a contact in the USA to help you buy and receive you stuff before sending it to Nigeria. You also need to have a US Paypal account in order to buy it directly from eBay but even if you didn't have one, you can always ask your US contact to help you purchase it.

Personally, I have a US Paypal account and when I have funds in them, one of the ways I spend them is by shopping for stuff on eBay.

How I buy things on eBay

- I first ensure that my US Paypal account has funds in them

- I also ensure that I have an active US mail forwarding service and that gives me a US address for receiving goods from US merchants.

- I change my IP address using a US VPN service and my internet connection

- I log into eBay and search for products I want and add them to my shopping cart

- I proceed to checking out and log into my Paypal account to make payment

- After payment, seller ships to my US address and I'm also able to track it until it reaches there.

- When item reaches my US address, I get notified by email and then make an international shipping request to Nigeria

- My package gets forwarded to me in Nigeria within 5 working days through UPS, DHL or Fedex

When my package is sent from the USA, I'm given the tracking number and I'm able to track it until it arrives Nigeria and when it says out for delivery, I know that it's coming to me that same day.

Shopping on eBay from Nigeria is quite possible but they are very careful about selling to Nigerian residents as they only prefer selling to US residents who also pay with Paypal. You can't make payments on eBay USA for now with a Paypal Nigeria account as far as I know.

I don't always shop on eBay as I do on Amazon because they don't accept payments from Nigerian issued cards yet like Amazon does and they only accept US based payments. Since I make some money through affiliate programs to my Paypal account, I fund my account with my earnings and then I can use the funds for shopping on ebay.
